Lead Engineer

Position Overview: Join a leading HVAC service provider known for its exceptional customer focus and a strong team of dedicated professionals. We are seeking an experienced Lead Engineer to take charge of our Mid-Atlantic operations. Key Responsibilities: - Oversee and conduct daily operations and maintenance of assigned facilities. - Supervise the maintenance team, assigning and monitoring ongoing maintenance activities and projects. - Perform preventive maintenance duties such as: - Changing filters, lubricating motors, and replacing lamps, ballasts, and fixtures. - Inspecting and adjusting belts, replacing motor bearings, aligning shafts, and conducting other manufacturer-recommended inspections. - Continuously recommend enhancements to the preventive maintenance program. - Coordinate projects and maintenance efforts with outside contractors and technicians as needed. - Maintain stock and inventory control to ensure operational efficiency. - Respond promptly to emergency situations (such as fire, evacuation, equipment failure) and handle customer concerns effectively. - Ensure compliance with all codes, regulations, and company policies related to building operations and safety practices. - Compile and submit weekly operational reports to keep management informed. - Complete all assigned safety training and adhere to company dress code and appearance guidelines.

Key Competencies: - Strong oral and written communication skills. - Excellent organization and time management skills. - Proficiency in technical applications, including Outlook, Excel, and Word. - Strong decision-making capabilities and problem-solving skills.

Experience Requirements: - A minimum of 5 to 10 years of experience in the HVAC industry, specifically with boilers and chillers. - Proven project management experience. - Possession of a valid “Universal” level certification for CFC and HFC based refrigerants (EPA Section 608). - A valid driver's license with a good driving record (periodic checks may be required). - Willingness to work shifts and on-call duties as needed.

Educational Qualifications: - High School Diploma or GED equivalent required. - Graduate of an apprenticeship program or trade school in HVAC preferred.

Physical Demands: - Ability to stoop, stand, climb, and frequently lift a minimum of 50 lbs of equipment (including pumps, tools, and ladders). - Regularly required to crouch and reach for equipment, involving bending at the waist or legs. - Need for mobility between departments, floors, and properties to facilitate task completion.
