About the Opportunity:

A well-established and expanding building automation contractor is seeking an experienced EMS Controls Engineer III in the Dallas region. This senior-level role is suited for an engineer capable of independently programming and designing complex waterside and mechanical systems. The company supports a wide range of markets—including data centers, healthcare, and industrial facilities—offering strong long-term stability and exceptional benefits.

Position Details:

  • Title: EMS Controls Engineer III
  • Location: Dallas, TX
  • Status: Full-Time | Hybrid (Office + Field)
  • Salary: $95,000–$110,000 DOE

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and execute complex engineering projects from kickoff through completion
  • Design and program advanced waterside and mechanical control sequences
  • Conduct job site walks, attend client meetings, and assist with submittal development
  • Produce detailed Sequence of Operations and create customized BAS graphics
  • Perform logic simulation, QA/QC reviews, and prepare programming for field release
  • Support commissioning, troubleshooting, and system validation with EMS Technicians
  • Provide mentorship and technical guidance to Level I and II engineering staff
  • Collaborate with subcontractors and internal teams to keep work aligned with budgets and deadlines
  • Work with industry protocols such as BACnet, Modbus, and Tridium-based systems

Ideal Candidate:

  • 5+ years of experience as a Controls Engineer or senior BAS specialist
  • Advanced hands-on experience with Automated Logic (ALC) platforms (required)
  • Familiarity with Tridium/Niagara, Schneider, Siemens, or Johnson Controls systems
  • Strong ability to interpret drawings, mechanical plans, and submittals
  • Deep understanding of mechanical systems and energy-efficient control strategies
  • Excellent communication skills and a collaborative, leadership-driven approach
