About the Opportunity:
A well-established and expanding building automation contractor is seeking an experienced EMS Controls Engineer III in the Dallas region. This senior-level role is suited for an engineer capable of independently programming and designing complex waterside and mechanical systems. Position Details:
- Title: EMS Controls Engineer III

- Status: Full-Time | Hybrid (Office + Field)
- Salary: $95,000–$110,000 DOE
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee and execute complex engineering projects from kickoff through completion
- Design and program advanced waterside and mechanical control sequences
- Conduct job site walks, attend client meetings, and assist with submittal development
- Produce detailed Sequence of Operations and create customized BAS graphics
- Perform logic simulation, QA/QC reviews, and prepare programming for field release
- Support commissioning, troubleshooting, and system validation with EMS Technicians
- Provide mentorship and technical guidance to Level I and II engineering staff
- Collaborate with subcontractors and internal teams to keep work aligned with budgets and deadlines
- Work with industry protocols such as BACnet, Modbus, and Tridium-based systems
Ideal Candidate:
- 5+ years of experience as a Controls Engineer or senior BAS specialist
- Advanced hands-on experience with Automated Logic (ALC) platforms (required)
- Familiarity with Tridium/Niagara, Schneider, Siemens, or Johnson Controls systems
- Strong ability to interpret drawings, mechanical plans, and submittals
- Deep understanding of mechanical systems and energy-efficient control strategies
- Excellent communication skills and a collaborative, leadership-driven approach
