Controls Technician III – Phoenix, AZ – $32–$36/hr (DOE)
About the Opportunity:
A leading mechanical contractor is seeking an experienced Controls Technician III to join its team in the Phoenix metro area. This role is ideal for a technician with strong HVAC controls knowledge and Niagara programming experience who can support installation, startup, and commissioning of Building Automation Systems across commercial, education, and healthcare facilities.
Position Details:
- Title: Controls Technician III
- Location: Phoenix, AZ (Project-Based Travel)
- Pay Rate: $32–$36/hr (DOE)
- Status: Full-Time / In-Person
Required Qualifications:
- 5+ years installing, commissioning, and maintaining HVAC controls systems
- Niagara AX or N4 Certification – required
- BACnet programming and integration experience – required
Key Responsibilities:
- Program, commission, and troubleshoot BAS/HVAC control systems
- Work closely with mechanical and controls service teams to ensure customer satisfaction
- Visit active job sites to review progress and evaluate completed work
- Create, organize, and maintain project documentation including submittals and O&M manuals
- Coordinate daily activities with subcontractors and field teams to meet timelines
- Participate in weekly project coordination and production meetings
- Track project performance relative to scope, schedule, and budget
- Resolve field issues efficiently and communicate critical concerns promptly
- Provide weekly updates and assist with project closeout requirements
- Ensure all work follows company safety standards and procedures
