About the Opportunity

A growing Building Automation & HVAC Controls group is seeking an experienced BAS Controls Technician to support commercial, industrial, and institutional facilities throughout the New Bern region. This role focuses on hands-on installation, troubleshooting, and commissioning of DDC control systems that support HVAC and energy management operations.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Hourly Rate: $36.00 – $50.00/hr (DOE)

Key Responsibilities

  • Install, configure, and troubleshoot BAS/DDC controllers and HVAC control equipment
  • Perform system start-up, testing, and verification for new construction and retrofit projects
  • Diagnose controls-related issues including communication failures and hardware faults
  • Load, modify, and validate BAS programming and system graphics
  • Install sensors, actuators, relays, low-voltage wiring, and related field components
  • Conduct functional testing and point-to-point checkout for all connected devices
  • Work directly with facility staff, mechanical contractors, and engineering teams
  • Document system updates, service findings, and field test results

Ideal Candidate

  • 2–5+ years of BAS/DDC or HVAC controls experience
  • Hands-on background with platforms such as Tridium, Distech, Johnson Controls, Siemens, or Honeywell
  • Strong understanding of HVAC equipment and control sequences
  • Experience with BACnet, Modbus, or LonWorks communication protocols
  • Able to read wiring diagrams, submittals, and electrical plans
  • Excellent communication and customer-facing skills
  • Ability to work independently in a field service environment
