BAS Controls Technician to support growing project demand throughout the Des Moines metro area.
This position involves hands-on installation, commissioning, troubleshooting, and optimization of modern DDC/BAS systems across commercial, healthcare, education, and industrial facilities.

About the Role
The BAS Controls Technician will play a key role in delivering high-performance HVAC and building automation systems.

Key Responsibilities
- Install, commission, and service BAS/DDC systems and components
- Perform point-to-point checkout, system functional testing, and calibration
- Troubleshoot controllers, sensors, actuators, and network communication issues
- Assist with programming updates, parameter adjustments, and graphics revisions
- Interpret control drawings, wiring diagrams, and sequences of operation
- Document commissioning results, test procedures, and field changes
- Work closely with mechanical contractors, engineering teams, and facility personnel
- Provide customer support and communicate system functionality clearly
Ideal Candidate Profile
- Experience as a BAS Controls Technician or HVAC Controls Specialist
- Strong troubleshooting skills with BAS/DDC hardware and HVAC systems
- Ability to install and terminate low-voltage controls wiring
- Hands-on experience with platforms such as Tridium Niagara, JCI, Honeywell, Siemens, or Distech
- Understanding of HVAC equipment including VAVs, AHUs, chillers, boilers, and terminal units
- Clear communication skills and a customer-focused mindset
- Ability to work independently and within a field team structure
