About the Opportunity:

MacDonald-Miller, the Pacific Northwest’s premier mechanical and building automation contractor, is seeking an experienced Controls Account Executive to expand their BAS portfolio across the Seattle metro area. This position offers an inherited book of business, a strong commission plan, a company vehicle or reimbursement option, and full benefits. Position Details:

  • Title: Controls Account Executive
  • Location: Seattle, WA (Local Travel Required)
  • Status: Full-Time

Ideal Candidate:

  • Background in Building Automation Systems (BAS) sales or related technical/account management role
  • Strong understanding of controls systems and mechanical concepts
  • Ability to grow existing accounts while consistently developing new business
  • Experience preparing proposals, conducting client consultations, and managing long-term customer relationships
  • Comfortable with sales metrics, pipeline tracking, and developing strategic sales plans
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills with a customer-focused approach

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain and expand an existing book of business while identifying new BAS opportunities
  • Conduct site visits, client meetings, and outreach efforts across the Seattle region
  • Collaborate with engineering and estimating teams to develop tailored proposals
  • Assess customer needs and present customized automation solutions
  • Coordinate with vendors and internal teams to close projects and achieve revenue targets
  • Monitor sales activity, margins, and pipeline performance in alignment with annual goals

Compensation & Benefits:

  • Base Salary: $85,000–$95,000
  • Commission: 15% of Monthly Gross Profit (7.5% during 6–12 month ramp-up period)
  • Bonus: Discretionary
  • 401(k): 40% employer match, fully vested on day one
