Position Details:
- Title: Controls Sales Engineer
- Location: Metuchen, NJ (Territory: Central & Northern New Jersey)
- Status: Full-Time | Hybrid (1 in-office day per week after ramp-up)
Ideal Candidate:
- Experience in Controls Sales, Sales Engineering, or BAS/HVAC controls account management
- Proven ability to generate new business while maintaining an established customer base
- Comfortable preparing estimates, proposals, and project contracts
- Experience interacting with contractors, engineering firms, and end users
- Skilled at presenting technical solutions and closing project-based opportunities
- Strong communication and customer relationship-building skills
Key Responsibilities:
- Grow sales of building automation systems and controls products throughout the assigned territory
- Develop new customer relationships and nurture long-term accounts
- Respond to RFPs and bid packages for retrofit, service, and new construction projects
- Collaborate with engineering and operations teams to ensure accurate scopes and competitive pricing
- Conduct client site visits, validate project details, and support alignment with specifications
- Represent ICC at trade shows, industry events, and customer presentations
