BAS Controls Technician – Canton, MA – $85,000–$110,000 (DOE)

About the Opportunity:

A premier mechanical contractor in the Greater Boston region is seeking an experienced BAS Controls Technician to support its expanding Building Automation division. This role includes hands-on commissioning, calibration, programming, and service of control systems across a broad mix of commercial and institutional facilities.

Position Details:

  • Title: BAS Controls Technician
  • Location: Canton, MA (Local field and office-based work)
  • Status: Full-Time | Union Position

Ideal Candidate:

  • 5+ years of Building Automation and DDC programming experience
  • Experience with systems such as JCI Metasys, Siemens Apogee, or comparable platforms
  • Niagara Certification – preferred
  • Strong understanding of HVAC integration and PID loop tuning
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate across teams

Key Responsibilities:

  • Calibrate sensors and verify accuracy on HVAC control systems
  • Tune PID loops to improve building automation and system performance
  • Assist in control system layout and integration based on project requirements
  • Develop and implement programming, graphics, and operating sequences for DDC systems
  • Perform equipment overrides, functional testing, and maintenance checks
  • Identify system deficiencies and recommend repair or upgrade solutions
  • Prepare estimates and proposals for BAS improvements
  • Lead or support startup, commissioning, and verification of system modifications

Offered Compensation & Benefits:

  • Base Salary: $85,000–$110,000 (DOE)
