BAS Controls Technician – Wichita, KS – Commercial & Industrial HVAC Controls – $38–$52/hr + OT + Vehicle

A well-established Building Automation and HVAC Controls contractor is seeking an experienced BAS Controls Technician to support commercial, manufacturing, education, and healthcare facilities throughout the greater Wichita region. This role focuses on installation, commissioning, troubleshooting, and optimization of modern DDC building automation systems.

  • Title: BAS Controls Technician
  • Location: Wichita, KS (local travel)
  • Pay Range: $38.00 – $52.00/hr (Depending on Experience)

About the Role:

This position supports the full lifecycle of BAS/DDC systems including installation, start-up, network configuration, and ongoing service. Projects include K-12 schools, hospitals, manufacturing plants, office buildings, and energy-efficiency retrofits across Kansas.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Install and terminate BAS wiring, controllers, sensors, and network devices
  • Perform point-to-point checkout, equipment testing, and full system commissioning
  • Troubleshoot control programming, communication issues, and HVAC system performance
  • Load, tune, and modify BAS/DDC programs using manufacturer software
  • Configure graphics, alarms, trends, and system dashboards
  • Diagnose issues with VAVs, AHUs, RTUs, boilers, and chiller interfaces
  • Interpret mechanical drawings, wiring diagrams, and sequences of operation
  • Provide technical support to building operators and facility teams

Ideal Candidate:

  • 2+ years of BAS/DDC controls experience
  • Hands-on experience with Tridium, Honeywell, Distech, KMC, or similar platforms
  • Strong understanding of HVAC fundamentals and control logic
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple field tasks
  • Strong documentation and communication skills
  • Clean driving record and valid driver’s license
