About the Opportunity:
A respected mechanical and building automation contractor in the St. Louis metro area is looking for an experienced Applications Engineer to help expand and support its growing controls division. This role centers on the design, development, and technical coordination of building automation systems. The ideal candidate will have strong BAS engineering experience, familiarity with Tridium platforms, and the ability to work closely with cross-functional teams to deliver accurate, cost-effective system designs.

- Status: Full-Time | Office Work + Client Site Visits
Ideal Candidate:
- Experience as a Controls Engineer, Applications Engineer, or similar BAS design role
- Skilled in creating BAS architecture using AutoCAD or MS Visio
- Proficient in writing Sequences of Operations and preparing submittals
- Hands-on familiarity with Tridium front-end programming
- Ability to prepare network layouts, wiring diagrams, and panel drawings
- Knowledgeable in selecting cost-efficient materials and devices for installation teams
- Collaborates effectively with programmers, project managers, and sales staff
- Strong understanding of HVAC systems and control strategies
- Comfortable conducting site surveys and job walks
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and oversee BAS system architecture for new and retrofit projects
- Develop BOMs, wiring schematics, network diagrams, and related design documents
- Prepare and manage submittals; review design documentation for accuracy
- Work closely with sales teams to ensure alignment on scope and technical approach
- Support programmers and field teams to ensure successful system implementation
- Deliver timely and high-quality design packages in a collaborative environment
