About the Opportunity:
We are seeking an experienced Senior Building Automation Sales Engineer to join a top mechanical contractor serving the Portland, OR market. This position is ideal for a motivated sales professional who excels in solution-driven selling and understands the technical nuances of BAS systems used in high-performance commercial environments.
In this role, you’ll help expand market share through consultative, value-focused sales initiatives, utilizing proven methodologies including SPIN Selling and the Challenger Sales Process.

Key Responsibilities:
- Grow new business while managing and expanding key customer accounts in the Building Automation industry
- Leverage SPIN Selling and Challenger strategies to identify challenges and present high-value solutions
- Develop customized proposals and solutions aligned with project requirements
- Communicate technical concepts related to BACnet, Ethernet networking, and DDC controls
- Collaborate with engineering, construction, and design-build teams on project strategy
- Represent the full suite of mechanical and automation services to both new and established clients
- Maintain strong, trust-based relationships through proactive engagement and support
Ideal Candidate:
- 5+ years of experience in BAS sales, building automation, or related controls roles
- Solid understanding of Distech, Tridium/Niagara, and BACnet systems
- Background working with large-scale or complex buildings (1M+ sq. ft. preferred)
- Comfortable with technical sales cycles and consultative B2B interactions
- Experience supporting design-build or plan/spec project environments

- Base Salary: $100,000 – $135,000 (DOE)
