A leading mechanical contractor in Los Angeles is seeking a talented BAS Controls Technician to support ongoing controls projects across the region. This field-focused position covers diagnostics, commissioning, programming, and coordination with subcontractors and internal teams. The ideal candidate is technically capable, detail-oriented, and ready to support projects from initial startup through final turnover.

Position Details:

  • Title: BAS Controls Technician
  • Location: Los Angeles, CA
  • Hourly Pay: $30.00–$65.00/hr (DOE)
  • Status: Full-Time | Field-Based | Project-Driven Travel

Ideal Candidate:

  • 2+ years of experience working with Building Automation or HVAC controls
  • Exposure to platforms such as Siemens, Honeywell, Trane, JCI, Andover, Schneider, or equivalent systems
  • Journeyman Electrical or mechanical trade certifications – preferred
  • Strong troubleshooting, commissioning, and controls logic skills
  • Proactive, organized, and comfortable working both independently and with project teams
  • Must pass background check and drug screening

Key Responsibilities:

  • Diagnose, adjust, and repair Building Automation Systems (BAS) and related controls
  • Perform commissioning activities, system testing, and point-to-point verification
  • Assist with installation support, equipment startup, and programming-related tasks
  • Modify and update BAS programs to align with design intent and operational requirements
  • Conduct both on-site and remote system testing to validate performance
  • Ensure systems comply with client standards, cybersecurity updates, and best practices
  • Work directly with owners, GCs, and internal teams to resolve technical issues
  • Serve as a lead technician or foreman for self-performed controls work when required

Compensation & Benefits:

  • Hourly Rate: $30.00–$65.00/hr (DOE)
