Join a dynamic team in the Chicago area as an Accounts Receivable Specialist, where your expertise in financial transactions will contribute to the smooth operation of our organization. This role is essential for managing customer payments and maintaining accurate financial records while providing exceptional support to our clients.
In this position, you will be responsible for:
- Preparing, posting, verifying, and recording customer payments and transactions linked to accounts receivable.
- Submitting invoices to customers through various channels, including email, mail, and customer portals.
- Maintaining and updating customer records, ensuring accuracy in name or address changes, mergers, or special mailing instructions.
- Recording collection activities using our integrated ERP systems to ensure updated financial records.
- Creating and processing credit memos and applications to maintain cash flow.
- Managing sales tax certificates and ensuring sales tax rates are consistently updated within the ERP system.
- Following up on delinquent accounts, while consistently updating and maintaining accurate accounts receivable and credit records.
- Adhering to established guidelines to regularly review and update account statuses for effective management.
- Running various financial reports on a weekly, monthly, and as-needed basis to assist in organizational planning.
To excel in this role, the ideal candidate will possess:
- Two to four years of undergraduate coursework, an associate's degree, or relevant certification in finance or accounting.
- A minimum of one year of related work experience showcasing financial management capabilities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Word, Excel, and Outlook, to manage and analyze data efficiently.
- A willingness to learn and adeptness in using company-specific software tools for reports and record-keeping.
