Accounts Receivable Specialist

In this role, you will have a range of essential responsibilities that include:

  • Preparing, posting, verifying, and recording customer payments and transactions related to accounts receivable to ensure accurate financial reporting.
  • Submitting invoices to customers through various channels, including email, mail, or customer portals, to facilitate timely payments.
  • Maintaining and updating customer records, managing changes such as name or address modifications, mergers, or mailing requirements to ensure data integrity.
  • Recording collection activities in the company’s ERP systems to track payment statuses and follow up on any delinquent accounts.
  • Creating credit memos and processing credit applications to support customer needs and maintain accurate financial records.
  • Ensuring compliance by maintaining sales tax certificates and updating sales tax rates in the ERP system as necessary.
  • Following established guidelines to review and update account statuses regularly, contributing to the organization’s financial health.
  • Generating various reports weekly, monthly, and as needed to provide insights into accounts receivable performance.

To be successful in this role, the ideal candidate should possess the following qualifications:

  • A minimum of two to four years of undergraduate coursework, an associate’s degree, or applicable certification related to accounting or finance.
  • At least one year of relevant work experience in accounts receivable or a similar role.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Word, Excel, and Outlook, to efficiently handle tasks and communicate effectively.
  • A willingness to learn and use company-specific software to streamline processes and enhance productivity.
