Manager of Materials Operations

Key Responsibilities Include:

  • Leading and supporting a dedicated purchasing and materials management team in daily operations while effectively addressing exceptions
  • Implementing a manage-by-exception approach that utilizes dashboards, metrics, and reports for identifying and resolving operational issues
  • Monitoring and enhancing inventory management performance by analyzing stockout rates, inventory turnover, and excess and obsolete (E&O) inventory
  • Identifying and executing initiatives focused on efficiency, optimization, and safety across all relevant operational functions
  • Generating and reviewing reports and dashboards to enforce target metrics, providing direct feedback for continuous improvement
  • Facilitating seamless processing of operational exceptions, which includes managing expedite requests, item returns, and repairs
  • Establishing objectives for employee performance, providing regular feedback, and conducting comprehensive annual performance reviews
  • Ensuring strict compliance with cycle and annual inventory counting procedures
  • Overseeing scheduling, work assignments, and the training process for team members involved in materials operations
  • Maintaining accurate and timely purchase pricing contracts for system-generated purchase orders

Preferred Qualifications:

  • A bachelor’s degree in a relevant field
  • At least five years of experience in purchasing or warehouse operations management
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and a capability to adapt to and learn new software tools
  • Strong knowledge in purchasing and warehouse management techniques, including data analysis and metrics calculation
  • A results-oriented approach to operations workload and exception management
  • An understanding of unique vendor and customer requirements
  • Proven ability to identify opportunities for improvement and implement effective solutions
