In this role, you will take the lead in identifying potential customers while nurturing existing relationships within the vibrant Virginia market. You will be integral to driving sales growth by facilitating the solutions lifecycle and serving as a vital link between customers and internal technical services.
Key Responsibilities:
- Strategically target potential customers based on past territory performance while considering your yearly sales quota.
- Proactively identify new business opportunities through cold calling, referrals, trade publications, and participation in industry trade shows.
- Schedule meetings with potential customers by targeting ideal industries to discuss and promote our solutions.
- Explore opportunities for additional projects and upsells within the existing client base.
- Assess and document potential cost savings related to equipment conversions, product consolidations, and efficiency improvements.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with customers and manufacturers to foster collaboration and growth.
- Serve as the primary point of contact regarding contract pricing and terms, working closely with accounting and internal sales teams.
- Advocate for customers’ interests when negotiating specific terms and conditions.
- Recommend product solutions and identify areas for product enhancements.
- Develop and maintain vendor relationships to expand market presence and boost sales volume.
- Participate in internal product training to enhance your ability to diagnose and resolve issues as they arise.
- Conduct online research and network through trade organizations to stay informed on industry trends.
Preferred Qualifications:
- An undergraduate or bachelor’s degree is desired.
- A minimum of five years of relevant experience in sales or account management.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and adaptability to learn new software applications.
- Thorough understanding of the industrial automation market, including the solutions offered and competitors in the field.
- A technical background in manufacturing, general maintenance, or instrumentation is an advantage.
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
- Strong professional communication skills, both written and verbal.
- A proactive approach to sales with a focus on meeting and exceeding goals.
- Capability to lift items up to 50 pounds as needed.
