Are you a sales professional with a passion for industrial automation? We are looking for an experienced Account Executive to join a dynamic team in Decatur, AL. In this role, you will be responsible for identifying and engaging potential customers while nurturing existing relationships across Southern Georgia and Northern Alabama. You will serve as a critical liaison, facilitating the sales cycle and driving consistent sales growth in the field of industrial automation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Target prospective customers based on historical territory performance and set yearly sales quotas.
- Initiate contact with key decision makers through cold calling, referrals, trade publications, and industry trade shows to expand the customer base and promote services across various industries.
- Schedule appointments with potential clients that align with the ideal industries outlined for this position.
- Explore additional projects and upsell opportunities within the current client portfolio.
- Document cost savings related to equipment conversions, product consolidation, and process efficiency improvements, as recommended to clients.
- Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with customers and manufacturers, acting as their primary point of contact regarding contract pricing, terms, and conditions.
- Advocate for customers when negotiating specific terms and conditions to ensure their needs are met.
- Provide product solution recommendations and identify areas for product improvements and additional offerings.
- Build and maintain vendor relationships to increase account penetration and enhance sales volume.
- Participate in internal product training to remain knowledgeable about product capabilities and issues, escalating any product-related concerns as necessary.
- Conduct online research and network through trade organizations to enhance industry connections.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in a related field.
- At least five years of sales experience in a related industry.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and adaptable to learn and use various company software.
- Comprehensive understanding of the industrial automation market, including competitive solutions/services.
- Technical background in manufacturing, general maintenance, or instrumentation.
- Highly organized and capable of thriving in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
- Proven ability to work in a sales-driven and goal-oriented environment.
- Physical capability to lift items up to 50 pounds.
