This role is pivotal in establishing new connections and nurturing existing ones within the industrial automation sector. You will serve as a vital link between your territory and the company, facilitating the entire sales solution lifecycle and advancing our commitment to excellence in automation solutions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Identify and target potential customers by analyzing previous territory performance and establishing yearly sales quotas.
- Proactively seek new business opportunities through various channels, including cold calling, referrals, trade publications, and industry events, to expand the customer base.
- Schedule and conduct appointments with key decision-makers in industries aligned with the company's offerings.
- Identify upselling opportunities and additional projects within the existing client base to maximize account potential.
- Document cost savings for clients through equipment conversions, product consolidation, and process efficiency improvements.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with customers and manufacturers, serving as the primary contact for contract pricing and terms.
- Advocate for customer needs while negotiating specific contract terms and conditions.
- Offer tailored product solution recommendations and pinpoint areas for product enhancements and add-ons.
- Foster vendor relationships that facilitate deeper market penetration and sales volume growth.
- Participate in internal product training sessions to strengthen troubleshooting skills and escalate product issues when necessary.
- Stay informed about industry trends and changes through online research and networking with trade organizations.
Preferred Qualifications:
- An undergraduate or bachelor’s degree in a related field.
- At least five years of relevant work experience in industrial automation or a similar domain.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and the ability to quickly adapt to company-specific software tools.
- Deep understanding of the industrial automation market and competitors, as well as the solutions and services provided.
- Technical background in manufacturing, general maintenance, or instrumentation is preferred.
- Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-oriented environment.
- Strong written and verbal communication capabilities, appropriate for a sales-driven and goal-oriented context.
- Physical capability to lift up to 50 pounds as required.
