Industrial Automation Account Executive

We are seeking a motivated and results-oriented Industrial Automation Account Executive to join a dynamic team dedicated to driving sales and enhancing customer relationships in the industrial automation sector. This position is based in Harrisonburg, VA, and focuses on serving a diverse range of industries throughout Virginia.

In this role, you will assume a crucial position in the sales solution lifecycle, acting as the primary point of contact between your territory and our organization. You will be tasked with not only identifying and pursuing new customer opportunities but also nurturing and expanding relationships with our existing clientele.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Utilize past territory performance data to target prospective customers, while adhering to annual sales quotas.
  • Generate new business leads through cold calling, referrals, and networking at industry trade shows and publications, connecting with key decision-makers to broaden the customer base.
  • Schedule appointments with potential customers that fit within the optimal industry segments.
  • Discover additional project opportunities and upsell options within the current customer base.
  • Analyze and document cost-saving opportunities associated with equipment conversions, product consolidation, and process efficiency.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with both customers and manufacturers to promote ongoing communication and collaboration.
  • Serve as the liaison for contract pricing negotiations and coordinate with internal accounting and sales teams to ensure streamlined operations.
  • Act as an advocate for customers in requests for specific terms and conditions.
  • Provide expert product solution recommendations while identifying areas for improvements and additional features.
  • Foster vendor relationships to increase account penetration and drive sales growth.
  • Participate in internal product training sessions to sharpen your ability to address and escalate product issues as necessary.
  • Conduct online research and actively engage with trade organizations to enhance industry knowledge and networking.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field.
  • At least five years of experience in a related role within the industrial automation sector.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite along with the ability to quickly learn and use proprietary software.
  • Extensive knowledge of the industrial automation market, including products, services, and competitive landscape.
  • A technical background in manufacturing, general maintenance, or instrumentation.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to excel in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication abilities.
  • A proven track record of achieving sales goals and working in a sales-driven environment.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
