Outside Sales Account Executive

Join a dynamic team as an Outside Sales Account Executive in the vibrant area of Boston, MA. This is an excellent opportunity for a seasoned sales professional to leverage their skills in a highly rewarding environment focused on commercial and industrial HVAC controls, burner/boiler controls, and building automation systems. We are looking for an individual who can generate revenue from potential clients while expanding the engagement with existing accounts.

As an Account Executive, your primary objective will be to cultivate relationships with commercial customers, utilizing your networking skills to increase sales through various channels such as in-person visits, phone calls, and tailored presentations. You will play a crucial role in developing and maintaining customer accounts, ensuring they are satisfied and primed for growth.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct proactive sales calls, utilizing investigative techniques to uncover opportunities, understand customer needs, and gather competitive insights.
  • Actively promote product lines and services to target clients within the designated territory while providing exceptional customer service.
  • Monitor and document all account activities systematically to help close deals and achieve sales targets.
  • Create and maintain a detailed account management plan for all assigned clients.
  • Collect, analyze, and consolidate customer data to inform strategic account planning and sales pipeline accuracy.
  • Address customer inquiries and complaints effectively by investigating issues and recommending solutions that align with client and company goals.
  • Meet and exceed defined sales activity metrics, including revenue targets, call volumes, quotes, and follow-ups.
  • Develop and implement strategic sales plans to maximize total spend opportunities within assigned accounts.
  • Collaborate with team members across branches to identify and seize sales opportunities.
  • Organize business reviews with key customer decision-makers and sales management to align on customer needs.
  • Craft proposals that address customer concerns, objectives, and requirements, enhancing the value of existing relationships.
  • Manage objections through clear communication and negotiations to reach mutually beneficial conclusions.
  • Present new products and services to existing and potential customers to drive engagement.
  • Work in tandem with technical staff and internal colleagues to fulfill customer requirements effectively.
  • Acquire in-depth knowledge of product offerings to accurately match them to customer needs.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in a relevant field.
  • At least five years of experience in sales, particularly with mechanical components and solutions.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and the capability to adapt to proprietary sales software.
  • Outstanding verbal and written communication skills, with a strong customer-oriented approach.
  • Ability to thrive in a sales-driven, goal-oriented environment.
  • Willingness to travel up to 75% to meet clients and foster relationships.
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
