Customer Service Representative

Join a dynamic team as a Customer Service Representative, where you will play a crucial role in delivering exceptional service to our valued customers. Located in Bensenville, IL, this position provides an exciting opportunity to work in a fast-paced environment within the industrial process marketplace.

In this role, you will be responsible for:

  • Managing customer inquiries by providing accurate quotes, processing orders, and offering application information to meet customer needs effectively.
  • Ensuring precise entry and acknowledgment of orders received through various channels including phone, fax, mail, and email.
  • Building and maintaining item records in our ERP system, which involves navigating manufacturer’s price books and literature to establish accurate product details such as model numbers, descriptions, pricing, and lead times.
  • Negotiating pricing to enhance sales effectiveness and profitability.
  • Supporting outside and technical sales teams with product selection, order creation, and project estimations for medium and large-scale projects.
  • Answering inbound sales calls and emails promptly, while also making outgoing calls to gather necessary information to complete customer orders or address any issues.
  • Proactively resolving order errors and monitoring customer satisfaction through follow-up communications.
  • Assisting customers in navigating our website and catalog to enhance their shopping experience.
  • Managing literature requests for pricing, data sheets, and other essential information.
  • Monitoring web orders and processing electronic purchase orders accurately.
  • Developing a comprehensive understanding of our catalog products and vendor offerings to better assist customers.
  • Engaging in continuous learning through training opportunities to expand product knowledge and improve job performance.

Ideal candidates will possess:

  • Two to four years of undergraduate coursework, an associate degree, or relevant certification.
  • A minimum of one year of experience in a related customer service or sales role.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • A willingness to learn and utilize company-specific software effectively.
  • A foundational knowledge of the industrial process sector and product lines.
