This role focuses on the configuration, programming, startup, and commissioning of custom control systems tailored to client specifications.
In this position, you will have the chance to engage in a variety of responsibilities, such as troubleshooting and reconfiguring defective systems, conducting scheduled maintenance, performing warranty tasks, and providing both phone and field technical support. Additionally, you will play a vital role in suggesting enhancements and modifications to existing systems.
As a key player in our engineering team, you will work with various control systems, including but not limited to:
- Boiler and boiler plant control systems, encompassing both Building Management Systems (BMS) and combustion control
- Chiller plant control systems
- Kiln and furnace control systems
- Other process control systems, such as batch processes
- SCADA and HMI systems
You will also have the opportunity to collaborate with various hardware platforms, including the Honeywell HC900 Controller, Honeywell ControlEdge PLC, and Allen-Bradley PLCs, among others. Familiarity with software systems like Honeywell Experion HS, Redlion Crimson, and Iconics is essential.
Key Responsibilities Include:
- Configuring and programming control systems based on project specifications
- Coordinating design and programming efforts with multi-disciplinary teams
- Validating and commissioning control systems during Factory Acceptance Test (FAT)
- Providing on-site customer training as required
- Documenting all tasks and maintaining meticulous records
- Assisting in the development of proposals and sales initiatives
- Offering suggestions to the Project Manager regarding system improvements
To excel in this role, you should meet the following preferred qualifications:
- At least five years of relevant experience in control engineering
- Two to four years of undergraduate study, with a degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering being highly preferred
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite including Word, Excel, and Outlook, with the capability to learn company-specific software
- Strong aptitude for tuning control loops and a confident understanding of Ethernet Network Systems
- Experience with Allen-Bradley ControlLogix and CompactLogix PLCs, and familiarity with Honeywell HC900 is a plus
- Background in using HMIs and SCADA systems is advantageous, along with experience in Redlion and Iconics
- Ability to perform physical tasks including lifting up to 35 pounds regularly and occasionally up to 70 pounds
