In this role, you will have the chance to work with a variety of advanced control systems across different sectors. Your responsibilities will include:
- Configuring and programming boiler and boiler plant control systems, including Building Management Systems (BMS) and combustion control.
- Managing and optimizing chiller plant control systems to ensure efficient operation.
- Overseeing kiln and furnace control systems, along with other process control systems to enhance productivity.
- Engaging in batch processes and working with SCADA (Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition) and HMI (Human-Machine Interface) systems.
- Utilizing various industrial hardware, such as Honeywell HC900 Controller, ControlEdge PLC, Allen-Bradley PLCs, and other leading controllers to achieve operational excellence.
- Employing software tools, including Honeywell Experion HS, Redlion Crimson, and Iconics, for effective system management and troubleshooting.
- Collaborating with cross-functional teams to align design and programming activities with project goals.
- Assisting in testing and validating control system configurations and commissioning control systems during factory acceptance tests (FAT).
- Providing on-site training for customers to ensure they understand and can effectively utilize the systems you develop.
- Recommending system improvements and modifications to enhance performance and efficiency.
- Supporting sales and proposal development to attract new clients.
- Conducting warranty work to ensure customer satisfaction and system reliability.
- Documenting all assigned tasks meticulously to maintain clear communication and operational integrity.
To succeed in this position, candidates should ideally possess:
- A minimum of five years of relevant experience in controls engineering or a related field.
- An associate's degree or equivalent certifications in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering; a bachelor's degree is preferred.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and Outlook, with the ability to learn proprietary software solutions quickly.
- Expertise in tuning control loops and troubleshooting with digital volt/ohm meters.
- A solid understanding of Ethernet network systems and the ability to interface control systems effectively.
- Proficiency with Allen-Bradley ControlLogix and CompactLogix PLCs, with Honeywell HC900 knowledge being an advantage.
- Experience with various HMIs and SCADA software, particularly Redlion and Iconics, showcasing a willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies.
- Familiarity with AutoCAD, allowing for seamless collaboration in design aspects.
Physical requirements include the ability to lift up to 35 pounds regularly and possibly handle weights up to 70 pounds on occasion.
