Customer Service Representative

We are seeking a dedicated Customer Service Representative to join a leading organization that specializes in process control solutions, industrial instrumentation, and analytical instrumentation.

In this vital role, you will play a key part in ensuring that our customers receive exceptional service and support as they navigate their purchasing journey. Your ability to proactively assist customers while demonstrating your product knowledge will be critical to your success.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Respond to customer inquiries by providing accurate quotes, entering orders, following up on shipments, and delivering essential product and application information.
  • Process and acknowledge orders received via various channels including phone, fax, mail, and email.
  • Create and manage item cards in the company's ERP system, ensuring the inclusion of model numbers, descriptions, pricing, vendor information, product classifications, and lead times.
  • Negotiate pricing with customers to enhance sales opportunities and improve profit margins.
  • Collaborate with outside sales and technical teams to support larger projects through product selection, quoting, estimating, and order creation.
  • Handle inbound sales calls and emails, delivering timely and informative responses to customer needs.
  • Initiate outbound calls to customers to gather necessary information for completing sales and product orders.
  • Proactively address and resolve any order-related issues, ensuring customer satisfaction through effective follow-up.
  • Assist customers with navigating the company's website and catalog, helping them find the resources they need.
  • Manage literature requests for pricing, data sheets, and additional information as required.
  • Oversee web order monitoring and release as needed, ensuring timely processing.
  • Accurately input and confirm orders received through customer electronic PO portals.
  • Cultivate a strong understanding of the company's product catalog and offerings from vendors.
  • Participate in ongoing training opportunities and self-study to enhance your product knowledge and improve overall performance.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Two to four years of undergraduate coursework, an associate’s degree, or relevant certification.
  • At least one year of experience in a related position.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Eagerness to learn and effectively utilize new company software.
  • General understanding of the industrial process marketplace is beneficial.
