Essential Responsibilities:
- Respond to customer inquiries by providing accurate quotes, entering orders, following up on shipments, and delivering essential product and application information.
- Process and acknowledge orders received via various channels including phone, fax, mail, and email.
- Create and manage item cards in the company's ERP system, ensuring the inclusion of model numbers, descriptions, pricing, vendor information, product classifications, and lead times.
- Negotiate pricing with customers to enhance sales opportunities and improve profit margins.
- Collaborate with outside sales and technical teams to support larger projects through product selection, quoting, estimating, and order creation.
- Handle inbound sales calls and emails, delivering timely and informative responses to customer needs.
- Initiate outbound calls to customers to gather necessary information for completing sales and product orders.
- Proactively address and resolve any order-related issues, ensuring customer satisfaction through effective follow-up.
- Assist customers with navigating the company's website and catalog, helping them find the resources they need.
- Manage literature requests for pricing, data sheets, and additional information as required.
- Oversee web order monitoring and release as needed, ensuring timely processing.
- Accurately input and confirm orders received through customer electronic PO portals.
- Cultivate a strong understanding of the company's product catalog and offerings from vendors.
- Participate in ongoing training opportunities and self-study to enhance your product knowledge and improve overall performance.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Two to four years of undergraduate coursework, an associate’s degree, or relevant certification.
- At least one year of experience in a related position.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Eagerness to learn and effectively utilize new company software.
- General understanding of the industrial process marketplace is beneficial.
