Customer Service Representative

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide detailed quotes and perform order entry, including following up on orders and responding to product and application inquiries from customers.
  • Accurately process orders received through various channels, including phone, fax, mail, and email.
  • Create and build item cards in the company’s ERP system, ensuring correct input of model numbers, descriptions, pricing, vendor information, product classifications, and lead times.
  • Collaborate with the sales team to negotiate pricing, effectively supporting sales efforts and enhancing profit margins.
  • Assist outside sales representatives and technical teams with product selection, quoting, estimating, and order creation for various projects.
  • Field inbound sales calls and emails, providing timely responses and assistance to customer inquiries.
  • Make outbound calls to customers to gather necessary information for completing sales, as well as to resolve any issues related to previous orders.
  • Proactively address and resolve customer issues or concerns related to products and services, ensuring high levels of satisfaction.
  • Aid customers in navigating the company’s website and catalog, making their experience seamless and informative.
  • Oversee literature requests for pricing, data sheets, and other relevant information required by customers.
  • Monitor and release web orders promptly.
  • Process orders received through customers’ electronic PO portals, acknowledging them as necessary.
  • Maintain and expand your knowledge of product offerings listed in our catalog and from our vendors.
  • Participate in training sessions and engage in self-study to enhance your industry knowledge and improve your performance.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Educational background of two to four years of undergraduate work, along with an associate’s degree or relevant certification.
  • A minimum of one year of experience in a similar customer service capacity.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Capability to learn and utilize specialized company software.
  • A general understanding of the industrial process marketplace and its operations.
