Industrial Automation Account Executive

Are you a driven sales professional with a passion for industrial automation? Join a well-established company focused on innovation and customer solutions in the automation sector. We are seeking an experienced Account Executive to drive sales and nurture client relationships in Southern Georgia and Northern Alabama.

In this role, you will play a critical part in the sales process, acting as a liaison between your territory and the company’s technical services, ultimately fostering consistent sales growth.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Identify and target prospective customers based on previous territory performance and annual sales quotas.
  • Expand the client base through strategic outreach methods, including cold calling, referrals, industry trade shows, and trade publications, connecting with key decision-makers across various industries.
  • Schedule and conduct meetings with potential customers that align with the company’s ideal target market.
  • Recognize additional sales opportunities by exploring new projects and upselling within the existing customer portfolio.
  • Assess and document cost savings and process efficiencies related to equipment upgrades, product consolidations, and other improvements.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients and manufacturers to enhance customer satisfaction and expand market presence.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for contract pricing negotiations, collaborating closely with the accounting and inside sales teams.
  • Advocate for customers in discussions around contract terms and conditions.
  • Offer tailored product solution recommendations and identify areas for product enhancement.
  • Develop and cultivate vendor relationships to deepen account penetration and increase sales volume.
  • Participate in internal product training to ensure a deep understanding of product offerings and troubleshooting; escalate product-related issues when necessary.
  • Conduct thorough online research and actively network through relevant trade organizations.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • A bachelor's degree or equivalent educational background.
  • At least five years of experience in a related sales role within the industrial automation field.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office software, with the ability to quickly adapt to in-house software systems.
  • Extensive knowledge of the industrial automation market, understanding the company's offerings along with competitive landscape insights.
  • A technical background in manufacturing, general maintenance, or instrumentation is highly valued.
  • Excellent organizational skills, with the capacity to thrive in a fast-paced and deadline-driven environment.
  • Strong professional written and verbal communication skills, essential for effective engagement with clients.
  • A goal-oriented mindset with a proven ability to succeed in a sales-driven setting.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds as part of on-site engagements.
