Key Responsibilities:
- Strategically target customers based on historical territory performance and annual sales goals.
- Identify and pursue potential new customers through various channels, including cold calling, referrals, and industry events.
- Establish and maintain contact with key decision-makers to expand the business footprint beyond the current customer base.
- Schedule appointments with prospective clients who match the ideal industry profile.
- Recognize and document opportunities for upselling additional projects or services to current clients.
- Analyze and illustrate cost-saving opportunities related to equipment upgrades, product consolidation, and efficiency improvements.
- Develop and nurture lasting relationships with both customers and manufacturers.
- Serve as the primary contact for contract pricing and terms, collaborating with accounting and internal sales teams for alignment.
- Advocate for customer needs when negotiating terms and conditions.
- Provide tailored product solution recommendations and identify potential areas for enhancements or new offerings.
- Build strong vendor relationships to support greater account development and increased sales.
- Participate in internal product training sessions to enhance your diagnostic capabilities and escalate product issues as required.
- Conduct thorough online research and actively network through relevant trade organizations.
Preferred Qualifications:
- A bachelor’s degree in a related field.
- A minimum of five years of experience in sales or account management within the industrial automation sector.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and ability to quickly adapt to company-specific software.
- In-depth understanding of the industrial automation market, including competitive products and services.
- A technical background in manufacturing, instrumentation, or general maintenance.
- Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to thrive under tight deadlines in a goal-oriented environment.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, complemented by a customer-focused attitude.
- Physical ability to lift up to 50 pounds as needed.
