Key Responsibilities:
- Lead a team focused on purchasing and materials management, ensuring smooth daily operations while troubleshooting and resolving exceptions.
- Implement and sustain a manage-by-exception approach for warehouse and purchasing operations, utilizing dashboards, metrics, and reports to identify and rectify issues promptly.
- Monitor and enhance inventory management performance by overseeing stockout rates, inventory turns, and excess and obsolete (E&O) items.
- Identify and execute efficiency gains, optimization strategies, and safety initiatives across relevant functions.
- Produce and maintain comprehensive reports and dashboards, enforcing target metrics through regular direct feedback.
- Facilitate seamless processing of exceptions, including urgent requests, item returns, and repairs.
- Conduct employee performance evaluations by setting clear objectives, providing consistent feedback, and completing annual performance reviews.
- Ensure adherence to cycle and annual inventory count procedures and schedules.
- Oversee work assignments, scheduling, and the training process for the materials management team.
- Maintain accurate and timely purchase pricing contracts to optimize system-generated purchase orders.
Preferred Qualifications:
- An undergraduate or bachelor’s degree.
- A minimum of five years of relevant work experience in materials management or operations.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and adaptable in learning and utilizing company-specific software.
- Solid understanding of purchasing and warehouse operations management methodologies, including skills in analysis and metrics evaluation.
- A diligent and responsive approach to managing general operations workload and exception handling.
- Familiarity with vendor and customer requirements, coupled with the ability to pinpoint areas for improvement and propose effective solutions.
