Join a dynamic team in Salem, VA, as an Industrial Automation Account Executive, where you'll be at the forefront of driving sales growth and managing customer relationships within Western Virginia. This position offers a unique opportunity to work with a well-established provider of industrial automation solutions, specializing in process and combustion applications, system integration, and the distribution of industrial instrumentation, controls, and valves.

In this role, you will take on a diverse range of responsibilities, including:

  • Targeting potential customers by analyzing past territory performance and sales quotas to maximize growth opportunities.
  • Actively identifying and reaching out to new customers through cold calling, referrals, trade publications, and industry trade shows, while fostering AC Controls' presence across various industries.
  • Setting appointments with ideal clients and recognizing opportunities for projects and upselling within the existing customer base.
  • Documenting cost-saving measures associated with equipment conversions, product consolidation, and process efficiency enhancements as recommended.
  • Building and nurturing strong relationships with clients and manufacturers to facilitate greater account penetration and sales expansion.
  • Serving as the primary contact for contract pricing and terms, collaborating closely with accounting and inside sales teams to ensure seamless communication.
  • Advocating on behalf of customers for specific terms and conditions while providing insightful product solution recommendations and identifying areas for potential product improvements.
  • Participating in internal product training to enhance your ability to troubleshoot and escalate issues as necessary, ensuring customer satisfaction.
  • Engaging in online research and networking through trade organizations to stay ahead in industry trends and advancements.

Ideal candidates will possess:

  • A bachelor's degree or similar educational background.
  • At least five years of relevant experience in sales or account management within the industrial automation sector.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and the ability to learn company-specific software effectively.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of the industrial automation market, including available solutions, competitive landscape, and customer needs.
  • A technical background in manufacturing, general maintenance, or instrumentation.
  • Strong organizational skills with an ability to thrive in fast-paced, deadline-driven environments.
  • Excellent professional communication skills, both written and verbal, enabling effective engagement with diverse stakeholders.
  • A goal-oriented mindset with a proven records in sales-driven initiatives.
  • The capability to lift up to 50 pounds as required.

This position offers a competitive base salary along with commission opportunities, including a guaranteed training salary for the first year.
