QA/QC Inspector I

Job Summary: We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated QA/QC Inspector I to join our dynamic team. In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for conducting inspections, examinations, and tests on electrical and mechanical components during construction projects within mission-critical environments. Travel Requirements: This position anticipates travel commitments of 50-75% annually, with potential for local work depending on residency within approximately 50 miles of the following job sites: - Jackson, MS - Milwaukee, WI - Aiken, SC - Richmond, VA

Key Responsibilities: - Read and interpret essential documents, including safety regulations, equipment specifications, drawings, and procedure manuals. - Perform and document results from inspections, examinations, and tests, ensuring adherence to quality standards. - Utilize necessary tools and equipment for quality control and quality assurance tasks. - Assess and confirm that measuring and test equipment is in optimal working condition. - Compose clear and concise reports and correspondence. - Communicate effectively with groups of clients and partner organization employees. - Collaborate with both internal teams and external personnel for daily project activities. - Review QA/QC plans, scheduling documents, and reports; ensure all inspection protocols are followed. - Organize and set up inspections and tests effectively.

Qualifications: - Education and Experience: - High school diploma or GED with a minimum of two months of related experience in inspection, examination, or testing activities involving Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) systems. - Alternatively, an Associate Degree in a related field with 3-5 years of experience in the construction sector, particularly in mission-critical environments, plus one month of relevant experience. - Visual Acuity: Must meet Snellen fraction requirement of at least 20/30 vision in at least one eye for both near and far sight. Ability to distinguish colors and contrasts typically encountered in testing. - Knowledge: General understanding of all mechanical and electrical building systems is preferred. Military experience is a plus. - Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office, with knowledge of Smartsheet and Ajera considered advantageous. - Math Skills: Competence in performing calculations involving percentages and proportions. - Communication Skills: Strong problem-solving abilities with the capacity to provide clear and professional oral and written instructions. - Organizational Skills: Exceptional organizational capabilities and the ability to work independently from a home office. - Leadership Qualities: Proven ability to lead, adapt, and manage stress effectively, with a strong sense of teamwork.

Work Conditions & Physical Demands: - A dedicated home office is required, conducive to performing daily responsibilities. - Ability to work both independently and onsite as required, with a typical travel rotation of three weeks onsite followed by one week working remotely. - Frequent physical activity may include standing for extended periods (eight hours or more), navigating uneven terrain, and working under various weather conditions. - Ability to handle equipment weighing up to 30 pounds is necessary. - Job responsibilities may involve climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, or crawling when required.
