QA/QC Inspector I

We have an exciting opportunity for a QA/QC Inspector I that involves conducting inspections, examinations, and tests on electrical and mechanical components in mission-critical environments. This role may require travel up to 50-75% annually, with specific local positions available within approximately 50 miles of job sites in the following areas:

  • Jackson, MS
  • Milwaukee, WI
  • Aiken, SC
  • Richmond, VA

Key Responsibilities:

  • Read and interpret critical documents, including safety regulations, equipment and site drawings, specifications, and operating procedures.
  • Conduct inspections, examinations, and tests, documenting results meticulously.
  • Operate quality control and assurance tools and equipment effectively.
  • Ensure all measuring and test equipment is in optimum condition for use.
  • Prepare clear and concise reports and correspondence for various stakeholders.
  • Communicate with clients and team members, presenting findings and insights confidently in group settings.
  • Collaborate with both internal teams and external partners to coordinate daily activities and scheduling.
  • Review and assess QA/QC plans, schedules, and reports for compliance and accuracy.
  • Develop and implement inspection, examination, and testing procedures.

Requirements:

  • Educational Background: High school diploma or GED with a minimum of 2 months of related experience in inspection, examination, or testing related to Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) systems. Alternatively, an Associate Degree in a relevant discipline combined with 3-5 years of experience in construction and mission-critical contexts, along with 1 month of related inspection experience.
  • Visual acuity to meet Snellen fraction standards of at least 20/30 in at least one eye for near and far vision, with the ability to distinguish colors and contrasts typical in testing.
  • Familiarity with all mechanical and electrical building systems is preferred, along with military experience being a plus.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, Smartsheet, and Ajera; experience in budgeting and forecasting is a plus.
  • Strong mathematical skills for calculating figures, percentages, and proportions.
  • Excellent communication abilities, both written and verbal, with a focus on problem-solving and clear instruction.
  • Outstanding organizational skills with the ability to manage deadlines and details.
  • Leadership capabilities with a focus on teamwork and adaptability, especially under stressful conditions.

Work Conditions & Physical Demands:

  • A dedicated home office setup is necessary for daily responsibilities.
  • Ability to travel to various job sites is required as the role includes a travel rotation of 3 weeks onsite followed by 1 week of remote work; local employees will work onsite.
  • Physical requirements include standing for extended periods, navigating rugged environments, and performing tasks in varying weather conditions.
  • Ability to frequently engage in strenuous physical activity including lifting equipment up to 30 pounds, stooping, kneeling, or balancing.
