Job Title: Support Mechanical Commissioning Agent (CxA)

Job Summary:

Are you a technically inclined professional with a passion for ensuring systems operate at their best? Join us as a Support Mechanical Commissioning Agent (CxA), where you will play a crucial role in verifying that mechanical systems are not only functioning as intended but also meet the Owner’s Project Requirements (OPR). In this role, you will act as an essential third-party authority during the commissioning process, performing thorough verification and functional performance testing in alignment with ASHRAE Guideline 0. This position offers a blend of hands-on work and collaborative engagement, making it ideal for those looking to make an impact in the commissioning field.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Review and apply training documentation effectively in daily tasks.
  • Communicate clearly and professionally with clients, engineers, general contractors, subcontractors, and vendors.
  • Learn and implement the commissioning process on-site while gaining an in-depth understanding of technical procedures.
  • Develop commissioning procedures using established templates.
  • Assist project managers in creating commissioning schedules by learning testing durations.
  • Collaborate on load bank plans for mechanical system testing during integrated testing phases.
  • Contribute to the development and execution of Testing, Adjusting, and Balancing (TAB) verification plans.
  • Deploy data loggers strategically for data collection as directed.
  • Conduct functional testing with support from team members and maintain accurate daily onsite testing logs.
  • Utilize infrared (IR) scanning and analysis to gather data, marking and recording IR photos of mechanical equipment.
  • Aid in the preparation of IST Reports, incorporating collected data into Excel charts.

Qualifications:

  • Education: A 4-year college degree or equivalent field experience; no prior work experience is required.
  • Training: Not specified; a general understanding of mechanical and electrical building systems is beneficial.
  • Computer Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Mathematical Skills: Ability to calculate figures and amounts, including percentages and proportions.
  • Strong communication skills to understand and convey instructions clearly.
  • Organizational skills and the ability to work effectively both remotely and on-site.

  • Frequent travel (50-75% of the time) to project sites is essential, with a typical rotation of 3 weeks on-site followed by 1 week of remote work. Local candidates will work on-site daily.
  • Must be able to communicate with a diverse range of individuals, and follow both verbal and written instructions accurately.
  • Physical demands include the ability to stand for 8 hours or more, maneuver in rugged conditions, and work in varying weather conditions.
  • Responsibilities may involve climbing ladders, conducting strenuous physical tasks, and carrying test equipment weighing up to 30 pounds.
