Support Electrical Commissioning Agent (CxA)

Job Summary:

Join a dynamic team as a Support Electrical Commissioning Agent (CxA), where you will leverage your technical background and detailed knowledge of the commissioning process to ensure that electrical systems operate according to design intent and meet the Owner’s Project Requirements (OPR). This role is essential in systematically verifying electrical systems through various verification techniques, including functional performance testing, while collaborating closely with engineers and project stakeholders.

In this position, you will be required to work onsite for every scheduled testing and inspection day and may need to travel extensively (50-75% of the year) for project site assignments.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Review and apply training documentation to daily tasks effectively.
  • Communicate professionally and confidently with clients, engineers, general contractors, subcontractors, and vendors.
  • Understand and implement the commissioning process efficiently in the field.
  • Develop commissioning procedures using established templates.
  • Assist in creating commissioning schedules by familiarizing yourself with testing durations.
  • Identify load bank requirements and develop comprehensive plans tailored to each project.
  • Collaborate with team members to connect and operate Performance Quality Management (PQM) test equipment on diverse data center installations.
  • Execute functional testing with oversight from experienced personnel.
  • Maintain a detailed daily onsite testing log including infrared (IR) scanning analysis and data management.
  • Record and organize PQM data in spreadsheets and produce associated reports as needed.

Requirements:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent field experience preferred; relevant military experience is a plus.
  • Skills: A general understanding of mechanical and electrical building systems is required.
  • Computer Proficiency: Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Mathematical Competence: Ability to calculate figures and perform percentage and proportion calculations.
  • Communication Skills: Capacity to understand instructions clearly and convey information effectively to colleagues and clients.
  • Organizational Skills: Demonstrated ability to manage tasks and priorities effectively, displaying initiative and dependability.
  • Leadership Qualities: Potential to develop leadership abilities in a team environment.
  • Work Environment: Ability to work remotely and travel to project sites regularly.

Work Conditions & Physical Demands:

  • A dedicated home office conducive for remote work responsibilities is essential.
  • Ability to travel and move about various job sites, adapting to changing conditions.
  • Must comply with a work rotation that includes 3 weeks onsite followed by 1 week of remote work, though this may vary according to client needs.
  • Physical stamina is necessary for prolonged periods of standing, navigating rugged sites, and performing strenuous activities.
  • Occasionally required to perform tasks involving climbing, kneeling, crouching, or crawling.
  • Capability to handle test equipment weighing between 30-50 pounds.
