Electrical Commissioning Agent (CxA)

Job Summary:

Join a dynamic team as a Support Electrical Commissioning Agent (CxA), where your technical expertise and commissioning knowledge will play a crucial role in ensuring the functionality and performance of electrical systems. This position demands a thorough understanding of the commissioning process, including verification techniques, functional performance testing, and critical power equipment operations. Your primary responsibility will be to serve as a trusted third-party authority, systematically verifying that electrical systems meet design intent and adhere to the Owner’s Project Requirements (OPR). You'll be deeply involved in all five levels of commissioning, following the ASHRAE Guideline 0.

This is an onsite role, requiring your presence during all scheduled testing and inspections. If you are not local to the specified job locations (approximately 50 miles), be prepared for travel commitments of 50-75% of the year.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Review and apply training documentation effectively in daily activities.
  • Communicate professionally and confidently with clients, engineers, general contractors, subcontractors, and vendors.
  • Learn the commissioning process and implement it effectively in the field.
  • Develop commissioning procedures using established templates.
  • Assess load bank requirements to devise project plans, including size, quantity, and connection specifications.
  • Assist with the connection and operation of PQM test equipment on various data center devices, under supervision.
  • Execute functional testing with the support of team members.
  • Maintain a daily onsite testing log and execute infrared (IR) scanning and analysis.
  • Accurately record and document data in spreadsheets, including PQM and IR photography.
  • Collaborate on report development and documentation processes.

Qualifications:

  • Experience: No previous work experience required.
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent field experience preferred.
  • Training: None required; a willingness to learn and grow is essential.
  • General understanding of mechanical and electrical building systems is beneficial.
  • Military experience is a plus.
  • Computer Skills: Proficient in Microsoft Office programs.
  • Math Skills: Ability to calculate figures and amounts, such as percentages and proportions.
  • Strong communication skills: Capable of understanding and conveying information clearly.
  • Organizational and leadership abilities to excel in a remote and travel-based work environment.

Work Conditions & Physical Demands:

  • A dedicated home office is required for efficient daily responsibilities.
  • Must be capable of moving around work areas and traveling to various project sites as needed.
  • The typical travel rotation involves three weeks onsite followed by one week of remote work.
  • Locally based candidates will be expected to work onsite.
  • Be prepared for physical activities, including standing for extended periods, navigating challenging environments, and handling equipment weighing between 30-50 pounds.
  • Occasional requirements include climbing ladders, kneeling, or crouching as necessary.
