Job Summary: Join a dynamic team as a Support Electrical Commissioning Agent (CxA), where you will play a pivotal role in ensuring that electrical systems operate according to design intent and Owner’s Project Requirements (OPR). This position requires a strong technical background and comprehensive knowledge of the commissioning process, including verification techniques and functional performance testing. You will act as an independent authority, systematically verifying the efficiency and compliance of electrical systems throughout various commissioning phases as defined by ASHRAE Guideline 0.
Key Responsibilities: - Review training documentation and apply your knowledge effectively to day-to-day activities. - Maintain clear, confident, and professional communication with clients, Engineers of Record, General Contractors, subcontractors, and vendors. - Acquire in-depth understanding of the commissioning process to implement effectively in the field. - Develop commissioning procedures using established templates. - Assist project management with the development of commissioning schedules by understanding testing durations and load bank requirement needs for projects. - Collaborate with team members to connect and operate Power Quality Monitoring (PQM) test equipment on diverse data center equipment. - Execute functional testing with team support while maintaining a detailed daily onsite testing log. - Conduct infrared (IR) scanning and analysis, accurately recording findings in spreadsheets and marking IR photos. - Capture and document PQM data and screenshots from PQM software to assist in report generation.
Education & Experience Requirements: - A four-year college degree or equivalent field experience is preferred, though no specific work experience is required. - A general understanding of mechanical and electrical building systems is essential. - Military experience will be considered an asset.
Skills & Qualifications: - Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs. - Strong mathematical skills to calculate figures and proportions accurately. - Excellent communication skills to understand and convey information clearly. - High organizational ability, along with the capacity to lead projects and teams effectively. - Dependable and responsive with strong problem-solving and critical thinking abilities. - Flexible with a willingness to adapt to changing situations and stress tolerance.
Work Conditions & Physical Demands: - A dedicated home office setup that supports daily responsibilities is required. - Local candidates (within approximately 50 miles) must work onsite when required. - Travel is expected 50-75% of the time, with a rotation of three weeks onsite followed by one week of remote work. - Ability to perform physical activities such as standing for extended periods, moving in diverse environmental conditions, and handling test equipment weighing 30-50 pounds. - Must be comfortable with occasional climbing, kneeling, crouching, or crawling as necessary.
