Job Summary

Join a dynamic team as a Support Electrical Commissioning Agent (CxA), where your technical expertise and passion for quality assurance will ensure that electrical systems perform to their intended standards. This role is ideal for candidates with a strong educational background in engineering and a keen interest in the commissioning process. As a third-party authority, you will systematically verify that electrical systems are functioning according to the design intent and Owner's Project Requirements (OPR), employing best practices outlined in ASHRAE Guideline 0.

Key Responsibilities

  • Review and implement available training documentation to enhance daily activities and execution of the commissioning process.
  • Communicate effectively and professionally with clients, engineers of record, general contractors, subcontractors, and vendors to foster collaboration and clarity.
  • Learn and apply the commissioning (Cx) process effectively in varied field situations, developing comprehensive Cx procedures using established templates.
  • Gain familiarity with testing durations to assist project management in creating detailed Cx schedules.
  • Understand load bank requirements and collaborate with the project team to develop an effective testing plan, considering size, quantity, and special connection needs.
  • Assist in connecting and operating PQM test equipment across diverse data center equipment under supervision.
  • Execute functional testing with the support of experienced team members while maintaining thorough documentation in a daily onsite testing log.
  • Conduct infrared (IR) scanning and analysis, meticulously recording data and marking IR photos for future reference.
  • Capture and organize data from PQM software, contributing to the development of reports that highlight project status and outcomes.

Qualifications

  • Education: A 4-year college degree in a relevant field is preferred; equivalent field experience may be considered.
  • Experience: No prior work experience required; this role is suited for entry-level applicants with a strong willingness to learn.
  • Background Knowledge: A general understanding of mechanical and electrical building systems is advantageous.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs; basic mathematical skills for calculations including percentages and proportions.
  • Personal Skills: Strong communication abilities to follow instructions and convey information clearly; organizational skills for managing multiple tasks effectively.
  • Work Ethic: Independently motivated with a leadership mindset, capable of working from home while also being willing to travel 50-75% of the time to project sites.

Work Conditions and Physical Demands

  • Regular onsite work required during testing or inspection periods, with local candidates expected to work onsite.
  • Travel rotation consists of three weeks onsite and one week working from home, subject to change based on client and business needs.
  • Role involves frequent physical activity, including standing for extended periods, moving through varied terrain, and possibly climbing or stooping.
  • Ability to carry equipment weighing between 30-50 pounds is essential.
