QA/QC Inspector I

Job Summary:
We are seeking an attentive and dedicated QA/QC Inspector I to join our team, responsible for conducting critical inspections and tests on electrical and mechanical components during construction in a high-stakes, mission-critical environment. In this role, you will leverage your inquisitive nature while collaborating with industry professionals to uphold the highest quality standards during the construction of innovative facilities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Interpret and analyze essential documents, including safety regulations, equipment and site drawings, specifications, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedural manuals.
  • Execute and document outcomes for inspections, examinations, and tests.
  • Utilize appropriate tools and equipment essential for quality control and assurance processes.
  • Assess and ensure that measuring and testing equipment is maintained in optimal condition.
  • Compose clear and detailed reports and correspondence, effectively communicating findings.
  • Deliver presentations to groups, including clients and employees of partner organizations.
  • Coordinate daily activities with both internal and external stakeholders for seamless operations.
  • Review and assess QA/QC plans, schedules, and reports for accuracy and compliance.
  • Scrutinize inspection, examination, and testing procedures to ensure adherence to standards.
  • Organize and carry out inspections, examinations, and tests as per project requirements.

Qualifications:

  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent (GED) plus a minimum of 2 months of relevant experience in inspection, examination, or testing activities related to Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) systems.
  • Preferred: Associate Degree in a relevant field such as Project Management and 3-5 years of experience in construction within mission-critical environments, coupled with at least 1 month of related inspection, examination, or testing experience.
  • Visual acuity: Must meet the Snellen fraction threshold of at least 20/30 vision for both near and far distances and possess the ability to distinguish colors and contrasts typically encountered in testing tasks.
  • Knowledge of mechanical and electrical building systems.
  • Military experience is a plus.
  • Computer Proficiency: Experience with Microsoft Office Suite, Smartsheet, and Ajera is advantageous.
  • Financial Skills: Familiarity with budgeting and forecasting.
  • Mathematical Ability: Competency in calculating figures and amounts, including percentages and proportions.
  • Communication Skills: Must exhibit strong problem-solving capabilities and deliver clear oral and written instructions.

Work Conditions & Physical Demands:

  • Ability to navigate work areas and travel to various job sites as necessary.
  • Strong communication skills to engage with diverse individuals, following both verbal and written instructions.
  • Capability to perform physically demanding tasks frequently, including standing for extended periods, maneuvering in rugged or unstable conditions, and adapting to varying weather conditions.
  • Comfort with handling tools and equipment that may not always be visible and the ability to reach overhead.
  • Occasional requirements may include climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling.
  • Must be able to lift test equipment weighing up to 30 pounds.
