QA/QC Inspector I

Location: Various locations with significant travel (Local positions available within 50 miles of designated job sites)

Job Summary:

Are you a detail-oriented professional with a passion for maintaining quality standards in mission-critical environments? We are seeking a dedicated QA/QC Inspector I to join our dynamic team. In this integral role, you will conduct inspections, examinations, and tests on electrical and mechanical components during construction projects. Key Responsibilities:

  • Read and interpret vital documents, including safety regulations, site drawings, specifications, and maintenance instructions.
  • Perform and document results for inspections, examinations, and tests with accuracy and precision.
  • Utilize required tools and equipment for quality control and assurance effectively.
  • Ensure that measuring and test equipment is maintained in optimal condition for use.
  • Communicate effectively through written reports and correspondence, maintaining clarity and professionalism.
  • Present information confidently to groups of customers or colleagues at partner organizations.
  • Coordinate day-to-day activities with internal teams and external personnel to ensure project timelines are met.
  • Review and assess QA/QC plans, schedules, and reports.
  • Set up and oversee inspections, examinations, and tests, ensuring compliance with all quality control measures.

Qualifications:

  • Education and Experience:
  • High school diploma or GED with at least 2 months of experience in inspection, examination, or testing activities focused on Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) systems.
  • Alternatively, an Associate Degree in a relevant field along with 3-5 years of construction experience in mission-critical environments plus 1 month of related experience is preferred.

  • Visual and Physical Requirements:

  • Must have a visual acuity of 20/30 or better (with or without correction) and be able to distinguish colors and contrasts during testing activities.

  • Technical Skills:

  • Competency in Microsoft Office programs, with experience in Smartsheet and Ajera being a plus.
  • Strong mathematical skills for budgeting and forecasting tasks.

  • Communication and Problem-Solving Skills:

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills to give clear instructions and effectively report findings.
  • Exceptional organizational skills to manage multiple priorities efficiently.

Work Conditions & Physical Demands:

  • Must have a dedicated home office suitable for regular responsibilities.
  • Ability to travel to various work sites as required, with a travel rotation of 3 weeks on-site and 1 week working from home.
  • Local candidates may have the opportunity to work on-site at job locations.
  • Physical requirements include standing for extended periods, navigating rugged conditions, and occasionally lifting equipment weighing up to 30 pounds.
  • Must respond adeptly to varying conditions, which may include adverse weather, and be able to follow both verbal and written instructions.
