Support Mechanical Commissioning Agent (CxA)

Location: Various locations within the United States, including Fayetteville/Douglasville, GA; Boydton/Ashburn or Manassas, VA; Jackson, MS; Santa Clara/San Jose, CA. Candidates must be local (within 50 miles) to the specified job sites or willing to travel.

Job Summary: Join an exciting opportunity as a Support Mechanical Commissioning Agent (CxA), where your technical expertise will play a pivotal role in verifying and ensuring that mechanical systems meet design intent and adhere to the Owner’s Project Requirements (OPR). You will engage directly with the commissioning process, utilizing your skills in functional performance testing and system equipment operation and maintenance knowledge. This position involves oversight and inspection responsibilities during all five levels of commissioning, following the ASHRAE Guideline 0 to guarantee optimal functionality and performance.

Key Responsibilities: - Review and apply training documentation to daily tasks effectively. - Communicate professionally and confidently with clients, engineers, general contractors, subcontractors, and vendors. - Learn the commissioning process to implement it effectively in field settings. - Develop commissioning procedures using established templates. - Assist in project management by understanding testing durations for schedule development. - Contribute to the creation of load bank plans for integrated mechanical system testing. - Support the development of Test and Balance (TAB) verification plans and conduct verification under supervision. - Deploy data loggers in designated areas for necessary data collection. - Execute functional testing as part of a collaborative team effort. - Maintain a daily onsite testing log. - Perform infrared (IR) scanning and analysis, recording data accurately in spreadsheets. - Capture and annotate IR photos for mechanical equipment analysis. - Support the development of an Integrated System Testing (IST) report, complete with Excel charts of collected data.

Qualifications: - Education: A four-year college degree in a relevant field or equivalent field experience is preferred. - Work Experience: No prior experience required; however, a general understanding of mechanical and electrical building systems is valuable. - Military experience is considered a plus. - Computer Skills: Proficient in Microsoft Office programs. - Math Skills: Ability to perform calculations involving percentages and proportions. - Communication Skills: Strong comprehension of instructions and clear conveyance of information to diverse audiences. - Organizational Skills: Demonstrated ability to plan, organize, and lead projects effectively. - Ability to work independently from home while managing travel to various project sites (50-75% travel expected).

Work Conditions & Physical Demands: - A dedicated home office setup is required for this role, facilitating daily responsibilities. - Candidates must possess the physical ability to move about the work area and travel to project sites as needed. - Typical travel rotation includes three weeks onsite followed by one week of remote work; adjustments may occur based on client and business needs. - Regular communication with diverse individuals is expected, as well as the ability to follow instructions and respond to inquiries. - Must be capable of performing strenuous physical activities that may include standing for extended periods, navigating rugged or unstable environments, working in various weather conditions, and handling tools and test equipment weighing up to 30 pounds.
