Switchgear Quotations/Estimating - Columbia, MD

This company is considering candidates who have experience with estimating or have been in field position and would now prefer/want to do an estimating office position. 

This position would predominantly work/support the Sales Department and the company’s Gear/Switchgear distributor.

PURPOSE OF HIRE:                               

• Expanding Columbia, MD Office

ABOUT THE COMPANY:

• Operating for 50+ years
• Clientele: Schools, Government Jobs, Hospitals, etc.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Create estimates or quotations on jobs primarily related to Switchgear and have excellent accuracy
• Prepare Submittals for customers and negotiate on returned Submittals 
• Prepare Bill of Materials (B.O.M.), share with customer and with the Sales Rep
• Finalize the BOM in the company’s ERP/CRM
• Support Sales Department and work with the company’s distributor on material pricing
• Determine profit and cost margins for each job
• Perform job walks and being able to estimate/identify costs related to the jobs that a Sales individual may have not seen. This person should understand how things work from a technical perspective.
